RAICO takes responsibility with CO2-reduced RULCA® and RLCA® aluminium
RAICO Bautechnik GmbH is making its contribution to decarbonisation in the construction industry with its aluminium solutions RULCA® (RAICO Ultra Low Carbon Aluminium) and RLCA® (RAICO Low Carbon Aluminium).
Climate protection through CO2-reduced aluminium
Since 2020, RAICO has been using raw materials for its aluminium profiles that are produced using renewable energies such as wind, water and sun. With RLCA®, the company reduces the carbon footprint of aluminium to a maximum of 4.0 kg CO2 equivalent (CO2e) per kg of aluminium - the global average is 14.8 kg*.
RULCA® goes one step further: with a maximum CO2 footprint of 1.9 kg CO2e per kg of aluminium and a minimum of 75% recycled end-of-life-aluminium, RAICO is committed to the circular economy as the key to conserving resources.
Responsibility for the future
‘Reducing emissions, closing cycles and conserving resources - that is our mission. With RLCA® and RULCA®, we offer our partners two aluminium grades without compromising on quality,’ explains Jonas Reischmann, Head of Sustainability and Quality at RAICO.
As a long-standing member of A|U|F e.V., RAICO is also actively involved in the recycling of aluminium in a closed material cycle. The material flow of RLCA® and RULCA® is monitored by an external service provider and is intended to ensure transparency along the supply chain.
