The building at Mauerstrasse 29, together with Mauerstrasse 27, which is connected by an elegant bridge, forms the second headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin. Both buildings have been extensively renovated to meet the requirements of modern ministerial use. A highlight of this renovation is the former cashier's hall, which now shines under a filigree glass roof and is known as the ‘Lichthof’. This light-flooded space now serves as a cafeteria and break area and invites people to linger. The expressive glass roof, combined with an impressive 10 metre long wall installation of 600 artfully interlaced prisms, creates a contemporary, open and inviting atmosphere.
