Paris, the City of Love, has gained a new heart in the form of “La Seine Musicale.” It is a dazzling place for the ears and eyes, for music and culture. The setting for this spectacular music and cultural center is the former Renault factory site: an island in the Seine River, from which the venue takes its name.
A Mosaic in the Air
The engines here fell silent long ago. Instead, a melody of mosaics hangs in the air. As the sun moves, an imposing, shell-shaped photovoltaic facade sweeps around the glass-and-wood auditorium. And in the evening, music and musical lovers from all over the world flock to the pearl of the “Shell Temple.”
