North of Paris, a sustainably planned athletes’ village for 14,500 athletes has been built for the 2024 Olympic Games. The 52-hectare site in Saint-Denis, L’Île-Saint-Denis and Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine was designed from the outset as a sustainable urban neighbourhood. After the Games, the former Olympic Village developed into a vibrant residential and commercial district with around 6,000 flats, workplaces, green spaces and modern infrastructure.
